Sue Shanly is running to be a strong, independent voice for Ward 2 — putting residents first, with no place for party politics at the municipal level. Her priorities come directly from more than 25 years of hands-on community advocacy.
Priority #1 — Responsible Growth in Ward 2
Ward 2 is facing major development that will reshape our community for decades to come — from thousands of new homes in Clarkson and Lakeview to increased density around Clarkson GO and the potential transformation of Clarkson Village.
I support responsible growth. But growth without adequate infrastructure and consultation is not responsible planning.
Before approving more towers and thousands of additional residents, we need answers:
- Can our roads handle the traffic?
- Do we have enough schools, parks and community services?
- Can our transit system keep up?
- What will happen to our existing neighbourhoods and Clarkson’s character?
- And most importantly — are residents being heard?
Ward 2 deserves development that works for the people who already live here as well as those who will call it home. I stood with Ward 2 residents at City Hall to Save Clarkson Village, and I will keep pushing for thoughtful, community-informed planning.
We don’t need to stop growth. We need to get growth right.

Protecting Our Environment
A dedicated Rattray Marsh steward and member of the Air Quality Task Force, Sue has a proven record of protecting our green spaces and shoreline — from tree planting to standing up against projects that threaten our air and environment.
Heritage, Parks & Culture
As a Director on the board of the Friends of the Museums of Mississauga, Sue champions our local heritage, museums, parks and cultural life — the things that make our community a wonderful place to live.
Accountable, Hard-Working Representation
For over a decade Sue has made presentations to City committees on Planning & Development, Budget, Trees and the Environment. She knows how City Hall works — and how to get results for residents.
“There is no other candidate who has worked harder for our community. There should be no place for party politics at the municipal level.”
